Enduring Power of Attorney and Appointment of Enduring Guardian

Drummoyne will lawyers

In addition, we can assist in drawing up an Enduring Power of Attorney and an Appointment of Enduring Guardian. These documents are now a common component of estate planning, and for elderly people in particular, are very useful in dealing with the unfortunately increasing occurrence of loss of  mental capacity. These documents allow the person or persons appointed to make decisions on another person’s behalf. The Enduring Power of Attorney allows the appointed person to make legal and financial decisions while the Appointment of Enduring Guardian allows the appointed person to make lifestyle decisions on matters such as accommodation, health care and medical treatment. The two documents complement each other to some extent, so are usually made together at the same time. For more information about the making of an Enduring Power of Attorney please see Information Sheet – Power of Attorney. For more information about about the making of an Appointment of Enduring  Guardian please see Information Sheet – Appointment of Enduring Guardian.
